Bath Time

Four did not love her first bath.


But the big kids were thrilled to be there!
They pulled up chairs to watch
and made sure all body parts got washed.

3 out of 4 were happy.....not bad!

Big SEVEN

One turned seven!

He had a great group of friends over
for a let's-play-sports party.


Mom made jerseys and we started the party
with a "draft". Here's the official team photo:

Crochet Beanies

The crocheting has continued!
Of course, it continued with me thinking
I didn't need a pattern
which is why this youtube tutorial
turned my next hat not into a baby hat
but this:


Which you know is a real hit
when even your baby brother
wants to wear it:



On my next attempt,
I actually stuck to a real pattern,
a free pdf download from YouCanMakeThis
and shockingly enough
I actually ended up with a baby-size hat!


Who knew?

Pipe Cleaner Rings

I saw these cute pipe cleaner flower rings
over on Martha Stewart.

They were so cute
and came together in a flash.

Kids loved them!
They'd be great party favors!

#4 Quilt

#4 actually has her very own quilt!

Completed and waiting for her arrival!

I cut 4" squares from all the leftover fabric
from the paintbox quilt-along quilt
and put them in rainbow order.
Initially I mixed them all up
but the whole thing looked a mess.
I love love love the rainbow order!!!

The back is just some fun
multi-colored fabric.

I had my quilter use a sweet butterfly pattern:

And the quilt already has kid approval!

I actually have so many scraps left over
that I'm tempted to make
a much larger version of this quilt.
Have I mentioned how much I love color?
Or how much I can't wait to meet Four?!?

A girl blanket

I made a blanket for baby #4
using this self-binding blanket tutorial.

It was easy
but I wasn't perfectly successful.
Possibly because I never
got up from my sewing machine
to actually smooth out all the angles
and, instead, just sort of winged it.

But still, I'm happy with how it turned out.
I love the color combo and the minky,
(although the minky was horrible to sew with).

It's the first thing I ended up sewing
for my own baby girl
and it has got me so excited!
