Easter Sunday

Super early Easter morning:(One was up and dressed by 6:20am....ugh.)

Ready for church:

Trying to get our annual Easter picture
in front this pretty bush at Gran's house:
(Love the look on One's face! This would be the winner
if it weren't for DaddyMan on the move....)

It gets better though,
DaddyMan gave me permission to share this one:
(DaddyMan's look just cracks me up! What was he doing?!?)

Call me crazy but I actually really love this one:

Keeping it real people!
It's just plain hard
to get a good picture of all of us
together!

But check out these cuties:

Happy Easter!

Our "happy" 4th of July!

I'm sorry,
but I love this picture.

Two was crying because the sun was in her eyes. Don't see any bright light from the sun on her? Yeah, me either. But check out that dress!

Three was getting ready to crawl away, completely distracted by all the faces Gran was making trying to get Two to smile.

And One, sitting there very patiently even though he was soooo ready to take off with DaddyMan to be in the parade.

Ahhh, moments like these ...what can you do?!

But things got better!

Here's One on his Boy Scout float:

Two got her smile back and some red gel in her hair:

And someone who would get her candy!
(That's the famous Kimi!)
Three's on the other side of the street there with Gran in the shade.

Here are my favorite signs from the parade:

"Life's too short to clean your own house" (maid services)

Freedom spelled with READ - LOOOOVE it!!

This one is for an adult marching band. Their slogan?
"We eat better than we play."

We ended the evening with fireworks at church,
followed by fireworks at home.

Happy 4th!

Randomness with tons of pics

Wow! So I didn't mean to take a two-week break from blogging!
I even kept crafting and taking pictures
so who knows what happened?!

Here is the big catch-up:

We went to story time about alligators
and my craftiness didn't quite extend to cutting in between every single tooth.
Two seemed happy enough with it.
Here she is roaring at the camera because what other sound does an alligater make?

We went for a walk in the park back behind our library:

But walking was not enough for Two, she preferred to fly:

I made Three his own set of keys, complete with key fob.
The finished product is somewhere in my mama van,
but as a consolation prize
here, at least, are my materials:

(Materials were about $2, then throw some old keys that you don't remember what they belong to or go to any place that makes keys and ask for a few from their "mistake" bin (free).)

As an only child who had a sibling for a short little while, watching my kids play together is always one of my greatest joys and something I make a point not to interrupt.
Here is One with his legs wrapped around Three
so Three wouldn't fall down
all while rockin' the baby toy air-guitar style!

I planted flowers.
Here is one that is still alive:

And some impatiens look adorable in these pots on my patio table:

(Do you see the roses in bloom in the background? Love them too!)

We got goofy at the mall:

(Then got issued a new credit card when the photobooth company got hacked into... Oops!)

One got his bobcat badge
and some really rockin' make-up:

I'm working on making a reusable snack bag:

The process is slow going because I am making a go of it without a pattern and, oh yeah, I like my sleep.
The fabric is a leftover scrap from this skirt.
Mental note: next time fork out the money for the pattern!

We went camping with friends over Memorial weekend.
DaddyMan made paper airplanes for the kids to throw into the campfire.
It was such a hit, I'm pretty sure it is our new tradition!

Breakfast

And most recently we've taken this guy back to the kidney doctor.

His bad kidney is still several times "normal" size. Another function test is back on the books. Hospital gowns, IV's, catheters, radio-active dye followed by radio-active diapers... We've got our fingers crossed and prayer chains full of prayers for good results because I'm pretty sure bad results will send him to surgery.

Up next are some grad gifts but those will need to stay top-secret for now since I know my favorite grad reads the blog.
(HI Kimiiiiiiii!)
Stay tuned!

Whew!
It's good to be back!

Where's the Easter Bunny?

The Easter Bunny is apparently a victim of the recent economy.
He must have been laid off.
Because tonight, we went with our cub scouts to a local radio station...

And found this!

Apparently the radio people were not expecting our mighty wee ones.
They thought we were there for "a tour" of the station -
Kept telling us they were waiting for "older boys". :o/
But check this out:

We filled and taped shut hundreds of easter eggs!
See the big container behind them?
See the container on the table?

Never under-estimate the power of child!
Or their parents. :o)

A Day of Hearts

Oh. My. Goodness.

I just measured One and he has grown an entire inch in the last five months! Half an inch in the last month alone! What's up with that?!

This morning I went with a friend to pick out a fancy-dancy dress for some special high school functions. We went to Abby's Closet, a fabulous organization. It's not the typical shopping experience because all of the dresses have been donated by people and stores, so they don't necessarily have every dress in every size... You can fall in love with a dress that's not your size or one that has already been snagged by a different girl... It's slightly challenging but she found a fantastic dress. Here's the winner! Isn't she beautiful?!

Maybe Two could learn something from her?
Check out this outfit she put together all by herself...

So of course I have to post about Valentine's! DaddyMan and I went out last night for Valentine's. Tonight we're celebrating with the kids.

We got the "heart"/superman-shaped pizza from Papa Murphy's.

We had a cute assistant chef and ate on our valentine plates:

Chocolate hearts:

A cute baby:

And look at the craftiness DaddyMan put together!

(These are just the heart-shaped chocolates inside an empty toilet paper roll, wrapped in tissue paper and tied with raffia.)

Happy Valentine's Day!
