Sunday

The evolution of the Christmas card photo....
First shot. Not bad, but blurry.

Nope. Two's got goofy eyes:

Let's try one standing. Well, Three's finally looking! The older two look bored to tears:

My absolute favorite. In all of it's imperfectness, this one was almost the Christmas card winner. One holding the jingly ornament in an attempt to keep Three in the picture, Two having fun and holding up her four fingers to show that she's four, and Three booking it over to me, trying to escape every picture, oblivious of the need to have ALL children of the family in the Christmas card picture! These are my real children. I seriously love it:

The actual winner. They're all looking, they're all smiling.
They're all in the picture!
Merry Christmas 2009!

Birthday Recap

For One's party, we had a few contests to see
who else could be "first" on Three's first birthday.

Here is the final round of the thumb war competition
where One's cute friend RC.1 let Two win

A watermelon eatting contest:

Getting ready for cake time!

This is how Three plays Peekaboo! Great for a new hair-do!

Hurray!

We went to Red Robin after the party for a birthday dinner.

And when you are turning ONE and your mom is a bummer because she thinks you've already had more than enough dessert because of your birthday cake, your big brother and big sister get to eat your ice cream!

We did a "no gifts" party but my friend made this awesome card!
She's uses a brush lettering technique found in this book here. Love it!

I ♥ valentines

I have a new friend that is a real artist. A real, like, make-your-living-off-of-your-art, artist. Well, we got together today to make valentine cards. Imagine, crafting with a real artist when you are a copy-the-ideas-of-others kind of girl! A little crazy but I think we had a good time. I love stampin' up stamps and here's a frugal secret.....tracing paper works just as great as vellum and is about a million times cheaper!

Here's a close-up of my favorite:

Muchas Gracias

Today my craftiness was one of necessity. With Christmas and a new baby, we have much to be thankful for. Many people have been so generous (I probably won't even need to buy size 2 diapers!)and I had a number of thank you cards that needed to be written. Because of my recent commitment to handmade, I have started making my own. This summer, a friend gave Two a beautiful birthday card and then shared the technique with me. I believe it's called Brush Lettering and I used Le Plume II pens. Here are some of my favorites:
