Randomness with tons of pics

Wow! So I didn't mean to take a two-week break from blogging!
I even kept crafting and taking pictures
so who knows what happened?!

Here is the big catch-up:

We went to story time about alligators
and my craftiness didn't quite extend to cutting in between every single tooth.
Two seemed happy enough with it.
Here she is roaring at the camera because what other sound does an alligater make?

We went for a walk in the park back behind our library:

But walking was not enough for Two, she preferred to fly:

I made Three his own set of keys, complete with key fob.
The finished product is somewhere in my mama van,
but as a consolation prize
here, at least, are my materials:

(Materials were about $2, then throw some old keys that you don't remember what they belong to or go to any place that makes keys and ask for a few from their "mistake" bin (free).)

As an only child who had a sibling for a short little while, watching my kids play together is always one of my greatest joys and something I make a point not to interrupt.
Here is One with his legs wrapped around Three
so Three wouldn't fall down
all while rockin' the baby toy air-guitar style!

I planted flowers.
Here is one that is still alive:

And some impatiens look adorable in these pots on my patio table:

(Do you see the roses in bloom in the background? Love them too!)

We got goofy at the mall:

(Then got issued a new credit card when the photobooth company got hacked into... Oops!)

One got his bobcat badge
and some really rockin' make-up:

I'm working on making a reusable snack bag:

The process is slow going because I am making a go of it without a pattern and, oh yeah, I like my sleep.
The fabric is a leftover scrap from this skirt.
Mental note: next time fork out the money for the pattern!

We went camping with friends over Memorial weekend.
DaddyMan made paper airplanes for the kids to throw into the campfire.
It was such a hit, I'm pretty sure it is our new tradition!

Breakfast

And most recently we've taken this guy back to the kidney doctor.

His bad kidney is still several times "normal" size. Another function test is back on the books. Hospital gowns, IV's, catheters, radio-active dye followed by radio-active diapers... We've got our fingers crossed and prayer chains full of prayers for good results because I'm pretty sure bad results will send him to surgery.

Up next are some grad gifts but those will need to stay top-secret for now since I know my favorite grad reads the blog.
(HI Kimiiiiiiii!)
Stay tuned!

Whew!
It's good to be back!

Flashlight Friday

Another flashlight friday has come and gone again. This one was super exciting for mom! When I asked One to go pick out a book, he asked if he could read it in bed! So my kids ended up reading in bed by flashlight and totally fell asleep early! Love it!

My crafty life has been a bummer recently. DaddyMan has had to work late recently to meet a deadline which meant my one night out with the girls....I didn't get to go. It's only once a month. I love it. But we are a one-income family and that job has to be more important than my night out. Throw in the fact that Three has decided the swing is not all that, that he must be held in order to sleep, and that it would be really fun to wake up wide awake at 10pm and any opportunity I had of crafting has gone out the window!

Then DaddyMan finally joined the facebook craze. Turns out some of his high school buddies are playing in town tonight. Of course he has to go! I mean, if some of my old friends were in town, I would want to be there in a heartbeat. I do not begrudge this night out for him. So it's another night of no crafts for me but I am anticipating a few hours of free time tomorrow where I can go crazy!

Here's the ruffle hat I'd love to finish:

Check out the high-class stitch marker (top right) and the funky folded wire holding a dropped stitch (bottom left) that I'm hoping I'll remember how to work back up. Classy, huh?

I also plan on doing this craft from Little Bit Funky. I have all of the materials....just need to do it!

Might also make one of these.

So much to do! Can't wait! Check back tomorrow to see if I actually got any of it done!

Keep 'em coming

Nothing new for today. I did make another bib. Only half as long as yesterdays and so much cuter because of it. Tonight I plan on working on this some more. It is slow going. The shower is Sunday and it's not looking like I'm going to make it. Sooo, rather than trying to do a new craft today, I'll stick with the blanket and instead list a few things I have on my list...

*I found the perfect dark gray/green sweater at goodwill yesterday that is soon destined to be this.

*For the next child's birthday party or maybe for our babysitter that's heading off to college next year, I have this in mind.

*End-of-the-year teacher's gift, perhaps? Perfect to attach a gift card to.

*My aunt is coming to visit next week. This might be a fun craft to do together that would be a great present for her two sweet grandbabies who live a plane-ride away.

*I found a great body pillowcase cover of large purple, fushia, and pink circles that will one day be this and probably this too!

*And finally, I made a wedding quilt for me and DaddyMan, yes, many years ago. Like most big projects in my life, it is still unfinished. Well, the top is (HAND)pieced together and I had begun quilting it. After almost 8 years of marriage and not one day of it occuring with our wedding quilt on our bed, I have decided to rip out the little bit of quilting I had begun...quilt the top directly onto a piece of muslin, and turn the whole thing into a duvet cover. Can't wait!

However, none of these, or any of the other 100 bookmarks I have in my "crafty stuff" folder will happen until I finish knitting the blanket.

Probably.
